He previously served as president of the Heart Rhythm Society and currently serves as the Utah Governor of the American College of Cardiology. He is recognized as an international thought leader on atrial fibrillation management. Dr. Day is board certified in cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology. After fellowship, he joined the cardiovascular team at Intermountain Heart Institute and directed heart rhythm research and received the Physician Researcher of the Year for the Intermountain Healthcare System in 2014 and 2017. In 2019, he joined the faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine as a professor of medicine.
